World Indigenous Peoples Day – Key Highlights

Date: 9 August 2026 | Venue: Girijana Bhavan, Nellore

10 Yanadi tribal families received cycles and fishing nets, with livelihood support of ₹10,000 per family.

1 tribal family received a wooden rickshaw worth ₹28,000.

Livelihood support was provided by ITDA, Nellore.

The programme was attended by Smt. Devarakonda Sujatha, Mayor, Nellore Municipal Corporation.

Sri Gaddam Subramanyam, GRI Project In-charge/Coordinator, was honoured by the District Tribal Welfare Department for his dedicated service to the tribal community.

The programme promoted sustainable livelihoods, dignity and self-reliance among Yanadi families.
